Solutions / Corrosive protection

Anti-corrosive protection. A program based on cause.

We combine assessment of water, materials and working conditions with proper chemical program, passivation and monitoring. The aim is to ensure stable protection of the installation, which can be confirmed by measurements and observation of trends.

  • Coal and stainless steel
  • Water courses and condensate
  • Passiveness and monitoring

Risk diagnosis

Corrosion symptoms require recognition of the mechanism.

Fertilisers, rust, sediment and rising iron concentrations may result from different conditions. We evaluate oxygen, pH, conductivity, temperature, flow rate, materials and work history before we choose protection.

Oxygen and inappropriate pH

Dissolved oxygen and outside the correct range accelerate the corrosion of steel and the formation of local damage.

Water chemistry

Corrosion under sediment

The deposits limit the inhibitor's contact with metal and form areas with other electrochemical conditions.

Surface

Materials combined in one system

Different metals, inappropriate conditions after installation and wandering currents can change local corrosion risk.

Construction

No continuous control

One-time correction is not enough when water replenishment, load, temperature or dosing changes.

Monitoring

Effect for maintaining movement

Protection reduces risk and orders service.

The effectiveness of the program is assessed over time, combining water parameters with the state of installation and history of intervention.

Explore Corrosion Mechanisms

Less leakage risk

Stable chemical conditions reduce the rate of degradation and the development of local corrosion outbreaks.

Better protection after cleaning

Proper surface preparation and passivation help protect the exposed metal.

Faster response to deviations

The determined parameters and frequency of the checks allow the change of conditions to be noticed in advance.

Read installation history

Reports combine water measurements, dosing, inspections and events relevant to the durability of devices.

Protection programme

From risk map to daily control.

The security is to operate under the actual conditions of the bet. We determine not only the treatment product, but also the method of surface treatment product, dosing, measurements and response to deviations.

Control points

Measurable parameters of effective protection.

The range of measurements depends on the installation. We select parameters that help evaluate the corrosion mechanism and confirm the protection.

  1. Chemical parameters

pH, conductivity, hardness, alkalinity, chlorides, sulphates, dissolved oxygen and iron, depending on the system.

  2. Process conditions

Temperature, pressure, flow, stops, load variation and share of fresh water in circulation.

  3. dosing and automation

Pump performance, control signals, injection point, alarms, treatment product stock and actual consumption.

  4. Surface status

Inspections, coupons or corrosive probes, thickness measurements, corrosion products and leak history.

FAQ

Questions about anti-corrosive protection.

Diagnosis, inhibitors, passivation, measurement and evaluation of the effectiveness of the program.

Is a corrosion inhibitor sufficient without prior cleaning?

Not always. If the surface is covered by scale, corrosion or process sediment, the treatment product may not reach the metal evenly. First we evaluate the surface condition and the need to prepare the installation.

How do you determine the cause of corrosion?

We combine water analysis, materials, temperature, flow, damage sites and work history. Depending on the system, we also use viewing, thickness measurement, iron in water, coupons or corrosive probes.

When is passivation required?

Most often after installation, welding, repair or chemical cleaning, when the surface requires the manufacture or restoration of a stable protective layer. The technology is selected for the material and the purpose of the installation.

How often should the protection programme be reviewed?

The frequency depends on the importance of installation, variation of load, quality of additions and stability of automation. At the beginning of the implementation, measurements are usually carried out more frequently and after stabilisation, the operating rhythm is determined.

How can you tell that the programme is working?

We evaluate the trend of water parameters, the concentration of iron, the consumption of the treatment product, the results of surface measurements and the history of the failure. A single sample is not enough for a reliable security confirmation.

See rust, sneezing, or growing iron?

Let's determine the cause of the corrosion and the proper way of protecting it.

A brief description of the installation, photos and last water results will indicate the required measurements and the appropriate next step.
